I’ve been through it too…..

About Tara

A life of curiosity

My path to psychotherapy has not been a straight one.

I have always been curious about people — what shapes us, what drives us, why we suffer, how we change, and what allows us to live with greater freedom and authenticity.

My earlier career took me through corporate life, international development and entrepreneurship. I then spent fifteen years living and working in India, a formative chapter that opened me to different ways of understanding the mind, spirituality and human experience.

Alongside my professional life, I became increasingly drawn to psychology, contemplative traditions, meditation and self-enquiry. Psychotherapy eventually became a natural meeting point for these different strands of my life.

What I have come to understand

For many years, I thought that if I understood enough, achieved enough or found the right answers, I would eventually arrive somewhere more settled.

Over time, I came to see things differently.

The deeper work is often not about becoming someone else, but about becoming more fully present to who we already are — including the parts we have learned to hide, reject or protect.

This understanding shapes the way I work.

I bring psychological depth, curiosity and honesty, while also making space for the deeper questions that can emerge as we move through life:
Who am I now? What really matters to me? What might it mean to live differently from here?

How I work with people

I believe therapy is a relationship, not a formula.

I bring warmth and compassion, but I am also comfortable with challenge and difficult conversations. Sometimes the work is about understanding the past or changing patterns that no longer serve us. Sometimes it is about slowing down enough to discover what is actually happening beneath the surface.

I don't see myself as the expert on you. My role is to accompany you, bring another perspective, and help create the conditions in which something new can emerge.

I am still learning too. Living across cultures, changing direction and navigating my own periods of uncertainty have taught me the value of staying curious, meeting ourselves honestly and remaining open to what life is asking of us.

That is the spirit I bring to my work.
